Suzan Peeters & Marilou Dejans – Breathscape

  • MSK
Jumbotron

An accordion hisses. A sculpture trembles. In this installation/performance, sound and image are fused, becoming a living organism. Musician Suzan Peeters manipulates her accordion with live electronics and transducers until the instrument is transformed into a breathing body. Visual artist Marilou Dejans infuses her textile works with sound: contact microphones and a 'Buttkicker' transducer make the surface vibrate. You see the movement in what you hear and hear a low growl in what you see.

This collaboration has its roots in the B-Wild programme organised by B-Classic and Wilde Westen: a lab for creators who are abandoning classical formats. It will remain in place throughout the evening and is activated at different times. Sound as scenography. Textile as echoes. Come listen with your eyes.
