Beethoven Scratched - BL!NDMAN [strings]
The four string players of BL!NDMAN [strings] play a movement from Beethoven's masterful String Quartet No 12 and then take on the work with vinyl. On four record players, they scratch historical performances of the quartet into a new landscape using modern DJ techniques. In this unorthodox version, the visionary late-Beethoven sound world is given new life. The musicians then engage in dialogue with two taped quartets in Steve Reich's virtuosic and exciting Triple Quartet, penned for the Kronos Quartet twenty-five years ago.
